Bozeman Stingers vs Fond Du Lac Preview

The Bozeman Stingers will play in their last regular season home games this weekend.

Bozeman’s Senior A Hockey Club will be wrapping up their 2023-2024 Black Diamond Hockey League (BDHL) regular season campaign with two home games against the Fond Du Lac (Wisconsin) Bears this Friday and Saturday (February 16th and 17th) at Hayes Pavilion.

The games will take place around Bozeman’s “Winter Classic” adult hockey tournament. Traditionally, these games around the “Winter Classic” have been packed with adult players enjoying hockey with cold drinks and excellent stadium concessions in hand.

The Bears play in the historic Great Lakes Hockey League, which has existed since 1937. The league includes teams from Wisconsin and Michigan; currently, with a 9-3 record, Fond Du Lac is just one point out of first place in the league.

“They [Fond Du Lac] are supposed to be strong; they’re one of the better teams from that region,” said Bozeman’s President and Capitan, Luke Bing. “Fans can expect a fast, high-scoring game. We’re hungry after coming off a couple of disappointing weekends,” he continued.

Fans can also see a former Havre, Montana player, Danny Roe, skate for the Bears. Roe had played with a few Stingers on the Montana Thunderblades youth team in USA Hockey’s National Tournament.

The Stingers are coming from a hard-fought series last weekend against the Jackson Hole Moose. After losing 6-3 last Friday, the Stingers took the Jackson Hole Moose to the wire before losing in a heartbreaking overtime.

Fans can watch the Stingers this Friday and Saturday at 7 PM. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at tickets.gallatinice.org/tickets. For more info on the Bozeman Stingers, go to their website https://www.bozeman-stingers.com or check out their Instagram @Bozemanstingers
